Dr. Manya Sadouski
Director
Dr. Sadouski earned her MD and completed her family medicine training at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She has worked in rural areas in Ontario, Manitoba and BC as well as Winnipeg. She has practiced in a variety of clinical settings including private practice, community health centres, teaching hospitals and academic settings.
Manya moved to Saltspring in 2006, with her then-young family, attracted by the remarkable sense of community she encountered while storm-stayed on a windy February weekend. (While interviewing for work in a different community!) That accidental visit led to an opportunity to try living and working on Saltspring for a year, and she never looked back. In 2010, she started her practice on Saltspring when a group of doctors organized to form a group medical practice. Manya has held leadership positions with the local Medical Staff Association and with Divisions of Family Practice. Currently, she sits on the Board of Directors for the South Island Division of Family Practice. Manya appreciates the diversity, challenge and connection she experiences with her practice on Saltspring.
When not working, Dr. Sadousky enjoys hiking and exploring the natural areas of Saltspring Island and the surrounding regions. She also sings, plays instruments and geeks out on music from the 17th century and prior. She is very appreciative of the opportunities provided while raising a family and participating in the wonderful community of Saltspring.
