Dr. Peter Verheul

Dr. Peter Verheul studied medicine at University of Bristol, UK, later completing his family medicine residency in Calgary. He moved to Salt Spring in 2018 with his young family and fell in love with the island he now calls home. He is passionate about improving access to care for all “Salt Springers” which has led to roles as Lady Minto Hospital Medical Staff President, the physician lead for the Primary Care Network planning committee and helping create the Island Community Clinic Society. Outside of medicine, you will find him spending time with his family, coaching kids soccer or as a POC firefighter.
