Board Member

Sherry Leigh Williams is a Red River Métis and Papaschase First Nation artist, educator, cultural leader, and community advocate who has called Salt Spring Island home for more than 25 years. Throughout her career, she has worked to strengthen communities through arts, culture, education, and relationship-building, creating opportunities for connection, inclusion, and shared understanding. Sherry is the founder and President of the Sweetgrass Arts and Music Society of Salt Spring Island and has held leadership roles with numerous community organizations and initiatives. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction from the University of Victoria and has taught Indigenous Art History and Indigenous Studio Arts at Camosun College. Drawing on her experience in community engagement, cultural leadership, and program development, Sherry brings a valuable perspective to the ICCS Board as it works to strengthen health and well-being on Salt Spring Island.
